    Drought in France: Nearly 70% Under Water Restrictions

    Nearly 70% of France's territory is subject to water restriction measures due to severe drought. The heat wave continues to gain ground, with temperatures expected to reach 35°C in many areas by Wednesday. The drought has led to several departments being placed under orange heatwave alert, and river levels are very low.     Russian Shadow Fleet Tanker Leaks Oil Off Omani Coast

    An oil spill is unfolding off the southern coast of Oman after a Russian shadow fleet tanker, the Caroline Bezengi, carrying at least 800,000 barrels of crude oil, ran aground and sank further underwater. The ship was reportedly hit by one or more explosions in early June, and the cause remains unclear. The spill has created a kilometers-long oil slick, threatening rare sea turtles and whales in the area. Oman has announced an operation to monitor the affected location, but it's unclear if salvage or cleanup measures have been taken. The tanker's insurance is reportedly not in order, potentially leaving Oman to bear the full cost of the disaster.
