UN Experts Urge Iran to Halt Targeting of Minorities
UN human rights experts have called on Iran to stop targeting minorities through arbitrary arrests, enforced disappearances, torture, and executions. Since late 2022, thousands have been arrested, with many subjected to torture and politically motivated convictions. At least 24 Baloch and 22 Kurds have been executed since 2026, with more at risk. Experts warn that minorities are targeted during unrest and beyond Iran's borders.

Abelardo de la Espriella's Inauguration in Cali
Abelardo de la Espriella, Colombia's newly elected president, will take office on August 7 in Cali, breaking tradition by not doing so in Bogotá.
