    Drug Trafficking Operations Lead to Arrests and Seizures in Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, and Maranhão

    In a series of operations, law enforcement agencies in Brazil have arrested suspects and seized drugs and other illicit materials in multiple states. In Piauí, four suspects were arrested during an operation targeting drug trafficking, with marijuana, cocaine, cash, and a motorcycle seized. In Barra do Piraí, Rio de Janeiro, over 5 kg of drugs and perfume were found hidden in a wooded area. In Teresina and Timon, seven people were arrested for suspected links to a criminal faction involved in drug trafficking. Additionally, an operation in São Paulo targeted a group suspected of extorting contrabandists, leading to arrests and searches in multiple cities.

    Man Arrested for Theft After Being Beaten by Residents in Boa Vista

    A 25-year-old man was arrested in Boa Vista, Roraima, after being caught stealing items from a house. He was beaten by residents before the arrival of the Military Police. A 35-year-old man was also arrested for receiving stolen goods. The suspect confessed to selling the stolen items to the buyer. The stolen objects were recovered and seized by the police.

    Aldesa Case: Prosecutor Points to Alleged 'Mimicry' to Capture Resources

    The Aldesa Group, consisting of 42 companies controlled by Aldesa Corporation of Investments (ACI), allegedly operated in a way that generated the perception among investors that the entire group was supervised and regulated by the Superintendency of Securities (Sugeval). However, only five of these companies were subject to Sugeval's supervision. The prosecutor maintains that investors were not informed about the links between the regulated and unregulated companies, compromising their impartiality. Aldesa advisors allegedly received commissions for referring clients to ACI without disclosing this materially separate process. Investors' resources were directed towards unregulated companies developing real estate projects without their knowledge. The case involves 23 people accused of major fraud and other crimes.

    Man posed as 49ers player, scammed women out of $1.3 million

    A man named Daejon Love posed as a San Francisco 49ers player to scam at least 26 women out of $1.3 million. He met women through dating apps, claimed to be wealthy, and convinced them to invest in fake investment vehicles. Love and his accomplice, Taylor Jamie Chan, were arrested in August 2026. The scheme lasted from February 2022 until their arrests.
