    Recently, two cases of Chinese nationals being kidnapped and extorted have occurred in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, Cambodia. In both incidents, the victims were lured under the pretext of buying bird's nest and then attacked by multiple assailants who demanded large ransoms. The first victim, Li (alias), a 46-year-old car sales employee and bird's nest wholesaler, was targeted by a man named Ye Shengjiang (alias) and three accomplices. They attacked Li at a villa in Sen Sok district, tied him up, beat him, and demanded $100 million. The second victim was rescued after a cross-provincial pursuit.
