Turkish Stock Market Crash: Borsa Istanbul Halts Trading After Major Drop
Turkish stocks plummeted on Wednesday, with the Borsa Istanbul 100 index falling 6 percent, triggering a trading halt. The crash was sparked by concerns about liquidity problems in the country's fund sector, with investors pulling out billions of lira from investment funds. The BIST 100 index, which tracks 100 major companies, was deeply affected, with all but two of its stocks falling. The crisis has raised concerns about broader fragilities in Turkey's financial markets.22 sourcesSee all sources
