SEBI Finds No Manipulation in New Closing Auction System
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has found no evidence of manipulation in the new closing auction system (CAS) introduced recently. SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey stated this at an event in Mumbai. While acknowledging issues with participation and effectiveness of showing indicative prices, he attributed earlier discrepancies to cautious trading in the newly implemented system. Mutual funds have shown increased activity in these sessions. SEBI is now exploring ways to enhance participation and liquidity in commodity derivatives and facilitate institutional investors.5 sourcesSee all sources
