ESA Launches FLEX Satellite for Terrestrial Vegetation Monitoring
The European Space Agency (ESA) has launched the FLEX satellite, an Earth Explorer mission led by Spanish scientist José Moreno. The satellite will measure chlorophyll fluorescence emitted by plants during photosynthesis, providing insights into vegetation health, water stress, drought responses, and carbon cycling. The mission is supported by the Spanish Space Agency (AEE) and involves over 30 companies, with significant contributions from Spanish industry.4 sourcesSee all sources
