GOP Losing Patience with Ken Paxton as Leaked Audio Threatens Senate Campaign
Republicans are growing frustrated with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's Senate campaign after a series of leaked audio recordings revealed his complaints about the GOP's role in his race and criticism of President Trump's policies. The recordings, obtained by various news outlets, show Paxton blaming his campaign's struggles on factors outside his control, such as Trump's Iran policy and high fuel prices. Some Republicans are now considering abandoning Paxton's campaign, with one GOP operative suggesting that Paxton could run his own race and raise his own money. Despite the controversy, Trump has doubled down on his support for Paxton, calling him 'the best attorney general in the country.'15 sourcesSee all sources
