    Obon Holiday Traffic Congestion

    Heavy traffic is expected on highways across Japan during the Obon holiday, with the Chuo Expressway expected to reach a maximum of 45 km/h on the 14th. The Meishin Expressway (up) and Tomei Expressway (down) are also experiencing congestion, with up to 28 km and 17 km respectively. The peak of traffic jams is expected today, with the Kan-etsu Expressway reaching up to 35 km/h. New Shinkansen and flights are also expected to be busy from the 15th.
