Madrid Hosts Formula 1's Newest Track, 'Madring'
Formula 1 returns to Madrid after a 45-year hiatus, with the introduction of the new 'Madring' circuit. The track, located in the Barajas and Valdebebas district, is a 22-turn street circuit with a 10-year contract with Formula 1. The Spanish Grand Prix, previously held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, has moved to Madrid, paying an approximate hosting fee of £41 million per year. The track features high-speed corners, a long pit lane, and a 'La Monumental' banking turn that can accommodate 50,000 spectators. The event is expected to attract around 100,000 fans daily, with Spaniards Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz leading the local interest.108 sourcesSee all sources
