    Laos Police Raid Hotels in Vientiane, Arrest 74 Suspects in Online Fraud and Drug Trafficking Case

    Laos police conducted a raid on the Athen Hotel in Vientiane, arresting 74 suspects involved in online fraud and drug trafficking. The suspects, including 71 Chinese nationals, two from Taiwan, and one Vietnamese woman, were found with numerous electronic devices used for online fraud, along with various types of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and e-cigarettes. Authorities seized the suspects and evidence for further investigation and will continue to pursue other suspects involved in the case.

    Pakistan Arrests 372 Foreigners in Islamabad's Sparco Plaza Raid

    On August 12, Pakistani authorities conducted a joint operation at Sparco Plaza in Islamabad, arresting 372 foreign nationals in two separate cases. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 258 individuals for violating visa rules by operating call centers, while the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested 114 individuals for running an online dating scam ring and blackmailing victims. All suspects were detained at the plaza, which was designated as a temporary detention center. Further investigation led to additional charges against 138 individuals. A video conference court hearing granted a 14-day judicial remand for all suspects. The Ministry of Interior plans to deport 284 suspects involved in visa violations.
