Johor Police Bust 4 Cross-Border Scam Syndicates, 25 Arrested

Johor police have conducted raids, dismantling at least 4 cross-border scam syndicates operating in Johor state. Approximately 25 arrests were made, including 14 Chinese nationals. The syndicates were involved in fake online gambling, love scams, fake e-commerce, and cryptocurrency scams, targeting victims mainly from China, Thailand, and Singapore. They recruited members through social media, offering monthly salaries of RM3,000 to RM4,000 for 'customer service' roles. Laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic devices, valued at over RM75,000, were seized. All arrested individuals have been remanded for further investigation under Section 420 of the Malaysian Penal Code.
