Chinese Man Arrested in Bangkok Luxury Villa Fraud Case
A Chinese man, known as 'Zhao', was arrested in a luxury villa in Bangkok for suspected involvement in cross-border fraud with Cambodia and Myanmar. Zhao, who holds Cambodian citizenship, allegedly bought the villa through a real estate agent and a law firm using nominee shareholders to circumvent Thai land ownership restrictions. Police are investigating 94 luxury villas in Bangkok linked to 95 companies using nominee shareholders, involving 156 Thai nationals.
