    Vladimir Petkovic Out as Algeria Coach After World Cup Exit

    Vladimir Petkovic's tenure as the coach of the Algerian national football team has come to an end. The Swiss-Bosnian coach and his staff have mutually agreed to terminate their contracts with the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) following Algeria's elimination from the 2026 World Cup. Petkovic, who took over the team in February 2024, led Algeria to the round of 16 in the World Cup but failed to advance further. The FAF has already begun the process of finding a replacement, with a preference for a coach from the Spanish school.
