13 Dead in Two Minibus Accidents on La Paz's Dangerous Yungas Road
In less than 24 hours, two minibus accidents on the treacherous Yungas road in La Paz resulted in a total of 13 deaths and 12 injuries. The first accident on Monday left 10 dead and 4 injured, while the second on Tuesday claimed 3 lives and injured 8. Adverse weather conditions and poor road conditions are suspected as contributing factors. The Police are investigating the causes of the accidents.

III National Multi-Hazard Simulation: Schedule, Participation, and Preparation Tips
On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 8 pm, the III National Multi-Hazard Simulation will take place nationwide, organized by the National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI). The event aims to strengthen preparation and response capacity to natural hazards and human-induced disasters. The simulation will coincide with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. Participants will practice responses to various hazards, including earthquakes, heavy rains, and tsunamis. INDECI recommends creating a Family Emergency Plan using the I-U-E-A-O sequence before the simulation.
