    Malaysia's Dengue Fever Cases Surge by 56.2 Percent, 55 Deaths Reported

    Malaysia's Ministry of Health reported a 56.2 percent increase in dengue fever cases nationwide up to Epidemiological Week 32/2026, with 58,079 cases and 55 deaths. The initial increase was concentrated in the Klang Valley, particularly Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. MOH intensified prevention and control actions, including early case detection, vector control, and outbreak management. The increase is attributed to unstable weather conditions and unmaintained water storage containers. MOH urges the public to eliminate Aedes breeding sites and take protective measures against mosquito bites.
