    Over 100 Cases Opened for Non-Combat Deaths in Ukraine's 'Skala' Regiment

    In Ukraine, over 100 criminal cases have been opened since the beginning of the year due to the deaths of soldiers in the VSU 'Skala' regiment. According to MP Alexander Fedyenko, investigations are ongoing in 61 cases, suspects have been identified in three, and one case has been sent to court. Forty-one cases have been closed, and another 18 are being reviewed by prosecutors. The high number of cases has raised questions about conditions in military units.

    Ombudsman's Representative in Zakarpattia Facing Persecution After Exposing Military Violations

    The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, reported that his representative in the Zakarpattia region, Andriy Kryuchkov, is being persecuted after exposing numerous violations by workers of the TCCK and SP. Lubinets stated that a criminal case is being fabricated against Kryuchkov, allegedly for hindering the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. Lubinets sees this as interference in the work of the ombudsman's office to hinder official duties. He also mentioned that mobilization does not give anyone the right to step over the law and human dignity.

    US Court Allows Thousands of Lawsuits Against Tech Firms Over Social Media Addiction

    A U.S. appeals court has ruled that thousands of lawsuits against Meta Platforms (Facebook), Google, TikTok, and other social media companies can proceed. The lawsuits allege that these companies designed their products to be addictive to young users, contributing to mental health issues. The court rejected the companies' argument that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act shields them from such lawsuits. Meta's bid to delay a multistate trial was also denied.
