    Wales Women's Cycling Team Wins Gold and Bronze in Commonwealth Games

    Wales women's cycling team made history at the Commonwealth Games with a gold medal in the team sprint and a bronze in the individual sprint. Emma Finucane, Rhian Edmunds, and Lowri Thomas set a new Commonwealth Games record in qualifying and went on to win gold against England in the final. Finucane also won the individual sprint, becoming the first Welsh woman to win two gold medals at the same Commonwealth Games since 1986. Wales has won six medals in the first two nights of track cycling, three of them gold.

    Mexican Divers Win Gold in Central American Games

    Mexican divers Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya won the gold medal in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The duo, who also won silver in the Paris 2024 Olympics, secured their victory with a score of 419.34 points. Colombian pair Luis Felipe Uribe and Sebastián Morales took silver, while the Dominican duo Frandiel Gómez and José Calderón settled for bronze.
