Uzbekistan Awards Chess Olympiad Winners with Money, Cars, and Housing
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the country's chess and parachess teams following the 46th World Chess Olympiad and the 3rd Parachess Olympiad. Champions and bronze medalists in parachess received cars, housing, and monetary prizes. The winners of the Chess Olympiad, including Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javohir Sinayev, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Muiddin Madaminov, and Shamshiddin Vohidov, will each receive $200,000, along with housing and cars. The head coach, Rustam Kasimdzhanov, will receive $50,000. The president also proposed building a modern chess palace in New Tashkent.2 sourcesSee all sources
