Poland Proposes Hosting Patriot Missile Factory for Ukraine

Poland has proposed to host a factory for producing missiles for the Patriot air defense system on its territory if Ukraine receives the corresponding license from the United States. This was stated by various Polish officials, including Deputy Minister of Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak-Charniecka. The proposal is based on the argument that building the plant in Poland would provide a safer location for production. Poland is also separately seeking a service center for Patriot and planning for a permanent US military base.

Trump's H-1B Visa Crackdown and Its Impact on American Workers' Wages

President Trump's $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions has significantly reduced the number of visas issued, leading to a 74% decrease in H-1B visa issuances and a 81% drop in visas for H-1B spouses and children. This crackdown is part of a broader tightening of legal and illegal entry, with border encounters falling to 8,900 in August 2026, a 96% decrease from the December 2023 record. Employers use the H-1B program to hire foreign workers for lower wages, suppressing American workers' wages. Indian nationals received 71% of the H-1B petitions approved in fiscal 2024, and 60% of H-1B positions were certified at lower wage levels in fiscal 2019. The Labor Department's March 2026 proposed rule found that 63% of certifications used the two lower wage levels, with offered wages averaging $10,191 less than the government's survey average for the same jobs.

New Reward System for Reporting Financial Scams in China

Starting October 1st, citizens in China can report financial pyramids, pyramid schemes, and illegal direct sales for rewards, with a maximum reward of 10 million yuan. The system aims to encourage active exposure of various financial scams and illegal marketing activities. Reports must be made under real names with complete evidence, and the information should not be already known to law enforcement agencies. Rewards are issued in stages, with a basic reward upon initial verification, additional rewards upon successful case investigation, and a final reward calculated based on the case's scale and severity. Anonymous reports, internal informants, or cases already being handled are not eligible for rewards.
