Russians Cut Back on Clothing and Footwear Purchases
In Russia, purchases of clothing and footwear have decreased by 10% in January-May 2026 compared to the same period last year, with some segments seeing a 15% drop. This is due to the desire to save money because of the rise in prices. The negative trend is worsening, with a further 4% decrease in purchases in the second quarter. Despite the decrease in quantity, the market is still growing in money terms due to price increases. Consumers are switching to lower price segments, waiting for discounts, and buying from second-hand stores or abroad.9 sourcesSee all sources
