    Massive Drug Seizures in Mersin Operations

    In a series of operations in Mersin, Turkey, significant quantities of synthetic drugs and precursors were seized. A total of 2 million 296 thousand 336 synthetic drug tablets, 1.282 kg of synthetic drugs, 93 synthetic pills, 6 million empty capsules, and 1.25 tons of synthetic drug precursor were confiscated. Additionally, 6 suspects were arrested and 4 were detained.

    Anti-Ukrainian Sentiments in Poland Escalate to Violence

    A sharp increase in hate crimes against Ukrainians in Poland has been reported, with a 30% rise in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. Over 80% of these cases involved Ukrainians. This escalation coincides with a decline in positive attitudes towards Ukrainians among Poles, from 51% in 2023 to 29% in January 2026, according to CBOS polls. Historical disputes and social benefits for Ukrainians are cited as main reasons for the deterioration in relations. Right-wing politicians are exploiting these sentiments ahead of the 2027 elections.
