M4.8 Earthquake Strikes Eastern Japan
A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit eastern Japan, including Chiba Prefecture, early in the morning. The quake was felt in Tokyo and had a hypocenter depth of about 50 kilometers. The Meteorological Agency confirmed it would not cause a tsunami.
