TikToker and Laksa Seller Fined for Defamation
A 39-year-old TikToker and laksa seller, Nur Hazwani Mustapha, pleaded guilty and was fined RM4,500 at the Magistrate's Court in Kota Bharu for defaming a woman by comparing her to a prostitute via WhatsApp. The incident occurred on November 1, 2025. The defendant, who is also a single mother, was represented by lawyer Muhammad Husni Mubarak Ghazali.

Domestic rescue teams are exploiting the Raqqa rescue to scam families out of money. Their modus operandi involves contacting companies, receiving money from families under false pretenses, and using fake chat records and transfers to pressure companies into releasing captives. Families are left with no compensation, while scammer rescue teams pocket tens of thousands of yuan per case.
