Pensioner Builds Tiny House Village for Women in Texas
A 70-year-old retiree, Robyn Yerian, has built a community called 'The Bird’s Nest' in Cumby, Texas, consisting of tiny houses for women aged 60 and above. Yerian spent around 150,000 dollars (129,000 euros) to develop the property and prepare the land for the homes. The community has 14 spaces prepared for homes and currently houses 11 women, with around 500 on the waiting list. Residents pay between $450 to $700 per month for rent, which includes services such as water, sewage, garbage collection, and maintenance of the facilities. The project aims to provide affordable housing and a sense of community for retired women.2 sourcesSee all sources
