
NHRC Directs Punjab Govt to Probe Allegation Against CM's Wife
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Punjab government to probe allegations that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's wife sought ₹5 crore to suppress a rape case. The complaint was made by former Punjab judge Justice Ranjit Singh. An NHRC bench headed by Member Priyank Kanoongo has asked the authorities to conduct an inquiry and submit an Action Taken Report within two weeks.
