Italian Man Sentenced for Fake Ancient Amphitheater

An Italian man, Franco Malosso, has been sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison for building a fake ancient Roman amphitheater and charging tourists up to 40 euros for tours. The structure, promoted as an 'ancient Roman amphitheatre', was constructed recently using modern materials like fiberglass, papier-mâché, and gypsum. Malosso claimed it was built in 393 AD and visited by historical figures like Julius Caesar, but archaeologists found it was built in the early 2000s. He also faces a fine of 3,000 euros and may have to pay 560,000 euros in compensation.
