Buzzi's Defense Seeks Postponement of Sexual Harassment Trial at STJ

The defense of suspended Justice Minister Marco Buzzi has requested the postponement of his trial at the Superior Tribunal of Justice (STJ), scheduled for August 6, due to insufficient time to prepare his defense. Buzzi is accused of sexual harassment and importuning by two women. The defense argues that the STJ's recess and the ministers' return from vacation make it impossible to schedule meetings with all the ministers before the trial. The trial involves an 18-year-old girl and a former third-party collaborator of Buzzi's office. The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) has requested that Buzzi be held responsible and compulsorily retired with proportional wages.

Finnish energy company Fingrid has informed Russian telecommunications operators that it will stop maintaining power line towers that support optical fiber cables by 2027. This decision comes after Russia stopped supplying electricity to Finland in 2022, making maintenance uneconomical. Around 60-70% of Russia's international internet traffic passes through Finland, with up to 30% of communication lines with Finland on power lines. Russian operators are exploring alternative routes through Belarus, Baltic countries, and undersea cables.
