Police Operations Target Drug Trafficking, Illegal Arms Trade, and Criminal Organizations Across Brazil

In a series of coordinated operations, police forces across Brazil targeted suspected criminal groups involved in drug trafficking, illegal arms trade, and other illicit activities. In Mato Grosso, the Civil Police executed 18 judicial orders against a group suspected of acting in drug trafficking in Santo Antônio do Leste, with branches in other municipalities. Simultaneous warrants were executed in five cities. In Paraná, the Federal Police conducted 'Operation Trama de Aço' against an international and interstate criminal organization involved in the trafficking of firearms. The operation resulted in eight arrests and 17 search warrants. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the Federal Police enforced four arrest warrants and five search warrants against a group investigated for negotiating firearms and ammunition clandestinely. Meanwhile, in Rio de Janeiro, a joint operation led to the arrest of Alexandre Albara, suspected of being part of a criminal organization responsible for acquiring and transporting rifles from Rio Grande do Sul to Rocinha. In Amapá, the Usufruto Proibido operation aimed to dismantle a criminal organization suspected of robberies and money laundering, resulting in five arrests and 13 search warrants.
