Slovakia is experiencing an unprecedented heat wave, with temperatures reaching record-breaking highs. On Monday, temperatures reached up to 38 degrees Celsius in the south, leading to a third-degree heat alert. The heat wave is most pronounced in the southwest and south of central Slovakia, with warnings issued for other regions as well. The Public Health Authority warns of increased risk for children, the elderly, pregnant women, and chronically ill individuals. Extreme heat warnings are expected to continue, with temperatures potentially exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. Record-breaking temperatures have been recorded in Bratislava, with the highest temperature reaching 40.6 degrees Celsius on Koliba.
