China Condemns U.S. Sanctions Against Companies Over Xinjiang Labor Concerns

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce strongly condemned the U.S. decision to add 43 Chinese companies to a blacklist over allegations of forced labor among the Uighur minority in Xinjiang. Beijing described the move as 'economic coercion' and stated that it would take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies. The U.S. action, announced on July 31, will prevent products from these companies from entering the U.S. market, as it is presumed that they are linked to forced labor in Xinjiang.
