A recent poll by FOM shows that 57% of Russians believe their surroundings are predominantly anxious, up from 53% the previous week. This is the highest level since December 2022, with anxiety having been prevalent since April. The war in Ukraine was cited as the most notable event of the week by 43% of respondents. Political scientists attribute the increase in anxiety to the negative information agenda.
