Vietnam Busts Cross-Border Telephone Fraud Ring; 18 Arrested, 3 Chinese Fugitives Captured

Vietnam's Phu Tho province police recently dismantled a cross-border telecom fraud case. A fraud gang previously operating in Cambodia planned to move its personnel and equipment to Vietnam to set up a new fraud center. The investigation began with local residents reporting a group of foreigners gathering suspiciously at a restaurant. Police seized 73 computer sets, 134 mobile phones, 20 laptops, Wi-Fi devices, and a large number of office and daily-use items. Vietnamese police have initiated criminal investigations against 4 people, including a Chinese man named Zhao Weichong.
