Former Thai MPs Urge Investigation into Suspected Large-Scale Transfer of Chinese Nationals via Mae Sot-Phop Phra Route

Former Thai MPs Charnvit Kasetsin, Chavanich Sittiphan, Kanawiwit Subhphol, and Charnvit Sriwanichvorakul revealed information and videos suggesting that nearly 2000 Chinese nationals departed from Myanmar's Mo Soe/Thachang region and were transported through Thailand's Mae Sot and Phop Phra districts before re-entering Myanmar. They urged the government to investigate who organized the transfer, provided vehicles and accommodations, facilitated routes, and profited from it. The MPs also raised concerns about Thailand being used as a transit point for international criminal organizations and fraudulent groups evading crackdowns.
