Lithuania Investigates Belarusian Citizen Andrei Shimanovich's Security Threat

The Migration Department of Lithuania has initiated an investigation into Belarusian citizen Andrei Shimanovich, residing in Lithuania, to assess whether his presence and the programs created by his companies pose a threat to national security. The investigation was triggered by reports from international investigative journalism platforms, including the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and 'The Bureau', alleging that Shimanovich's applications could be used for transferring information to Russia and Belarus. The State Security Department, National Cyber Security Center, and Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau are involved in the evaluation, with the Migration Department set to make a final decision based on their conclusions.
