Negeri Sembilan State Election: 859,760 Eligible Voters Cast Ballots for 36 State Seats

A total of 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, are eligible to vote in the Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN) today. Voting began at 8 am simultaneously at 401 polling centers involving 1,668 channels and will close at 6 pm. The Election Commission (EC) targets a voter turnout rate of between 72 and 75 percent with results expected to be known as early as 10 pm while the final results will be obtained before midnight. A total of 36 state assembly seats are being contested in this PRN, involving 103 candidates. Pakatan Harapan (PH) dominates the competition with 36 candidates followed by Barisan Nasional (BN) (25), Bersatu (24) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) 11 candidates. Also contesting are Berjasa, ASLI and Parti Sosialis Malaysia each with one representative, as well as four independent candidates. In this PRN, a total of 22 DUN face three-cornered fights, 11 DUN with one-on-one contests, and two DUN each with four and five-cornered fights.
