August Brings Multiple Price Hikes: Transportation, Schools, Gas, Water, and Prepayments

August begins with a series of increases affecting various everyday expenses for Argentine households. Transportation fares, including buses, subways, and tolls, will increase by around 4% due to inflation plus additional percentage points. Private schools in Buenos Aires province will see fees rise by 8.1% in stages, with an initial 5.5% increase in August and an additional 2.5% in September. Rents will also see adjustments, with interannual increases of 31.52% to 36% depending on the contract date. Gas rates will be updated every two months under a new scheme called Daily Accumulated Difference (DDA), while water rates will increase by 3% in August. Prepaid health insurance companies have announced increases of up to 2.1% for August.
