In recent days, Mong La and Mang Ra in eastern Shan State, Myanmar, have launched citywide sweep operations targeting phone scams and telefraud activities. The operations focus on checking guesthouses, commercial areas, and foreigner activity zones to investigate identity registration, unusual gatherings, and suspicious electronic device usage. The aim is to uncover hidden online fraud dens and prevent people from using residential buildings and office towers for such activities. Relevant departments have strengthened border patrols to prevent fraud suspects from fleeing through illegal channels. Both areas will continue follow-up sweeps and intensify crackdowns on phone scams and related illegal activities.
