Peru's El Niño Costero Brings Unusually High Temperatures

Peru is experiencing unusually high temperatures due to El Niño Costero, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 36°C on the north coast and 30°C on the central coast. The phenomenon is also affecting the sierra and jungle regions. Senamhi has placed 21 regions on alert due to elevated temperatures. The organization warns that these conditions are associated with the presence of El Niño Coastal phenomenon on the Peruvian coast and scarce cloud cover around midday will favor greater solar exposure and an increase in ultraviolet radiation. Senamhi recommends reducing direct sun exposure during peak hours, using appropriate protection, and staying informed about official updates.
