Japan Joins EU's Horizon Europe Research Program

Japan has signed an agreement to become an associated country of the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program. This move allows Japanese companies, universities, and research institutions to participate in international joint research projects, mainly in Europe, and promotes science and technology research across various fields. Japanese entities can now apply for EU funding for eligible projects and act as project coordinators. Japan becomes the 23rd associated country of Horizon Europe, joining other non-EU countries like the UK, Canada, and South Korea.
