Iranian Revolutionary Guard Strikes Two Oil Tankers in Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced that it had struck and stopped two oil tankers attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, disregarding warnings. According to the IRGC, the vessels were moving under the cover of American aviation. Another four tankers, which also violated the rules, turned around and left the area. The statement emphasizes that further involvement of American military in the region will meet with reciprocal measures. The IRGC also reminded the owners of the vessels and insurance companies not to rely on statements from CENTCOM, and called upon them to orient themselves according to official Iranian warnings.
