Moldova Faces Fuel Shortages; Government Implements Emergency Measures

Moldova is experiencing fuel shortages, particularly diesel, due to disruptions in regional supplies caused by issues on the Danube, the situation in the Middle East, and damage to terminals in Novorossiysk. The government has responded by importing emergency supplies, declaring a state of heightened readiness in the energy sector, and ordering state institutions to reduce diesel consumption. Around 63 gas stations are currently facing a shortage of diesel, with emergency supplies of around 900 tons of diesel and 400 tons of gasoline imported over the past day. The government has also limited exports and re-exports of diesel fuel and imposed minimum stocks of fuel to prevent a deficit on the market.
