Constitutional Chamber Extends Term of Substitute Magistrates

The Constitutional Chamber issued a ruling extending the term of substitute magistrates until the Legislative Assembly chooses substitutes, preventing the chamber from going into technical closure. This decision was made due to a blockade imposed by deputies of the People's Sovereign Party (PPSO) on the election of substitute magistrates. The Assembly did not elect substitutes because PPSO deputies did not contribute their votes to any of the candidates presented by the Supreme Court of Justice. The ruling prevents the Constitutional Chamber from acting in cases where there are inhibited proprietary magistrates.
