Disabled Mother and Newborn Evicted, Rights Restored

Ombudsmen for human rights intervened to help a disabled mother with a newborn baby who was evicted from a municipal apartment in Stavropol. The woman, an orphan with a disability since childhood, was removed from the registry by a court decision made in absentia. After appealing to the regional human rights commissioner, the decision was recognized as illegal and canceled by the court. The issue of restoring the woman and child's registration, as well as arranging social benefits, is currently being resolved.
