Remembering the 1929 Hebron Massacre

Today marks the 97th anniversary of the Hebron Massacre, where 67 Jews were brutally murdered by Arab rioters in 1929. The attack, which took place on Shabbat, targeted a Jewish settlement of around 800 people, including children and elders. A third of the victims were students at the Yeshivat Hebron - Kiryat Arba who were murdered while learning inside the yeshiva. The massacre led to the temporary end of centuries of continuous Jewish life in Hebron. The hatred behind this event continues to fuel terrorism against Israelis today.
