Mexico's Government Presents Guidelines for Audience Rights Protection

The Federal Executive's legal advisor, Luisa María Alcalde, presented the General Guidelines for the Protection of Audience Rights, issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT). The guidelines apply to radio and television concessionaires, requiring them to have an Ethics Code, designate audience defenders, and establish complaint mechanisms. Key audience rights include receiving accurate information, distinguishing news from opinion and advertising, ensuring the right to reply, and providing accessibility services for people with disabilities.
