Russian Telephone Scammer Detained in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg law enforcement officers have detained the organizer of a call center for telephone scammers. The suspect, a local resident born in 2004, placed and maintained equipment for fraudulent schemes to extort money from Russians. The activities of this technical center resulted in several tens of millions of rubles being stolen. During the search, two sim-boxes with 128 slots and over 100 sim-cards were seized. A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under part 3 of article 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
