Afghanistan Emphasizes Regional Cooperation in Fight Against Terrorism

The Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has underscored the importance of intelligence and security cooperation with neighboring and regional countries in combating terrorism. The ministry's spokesperson highlighted regular joint meetings and consultations with other nations, emphasizing that regional security cannot be achieved unilaterally. This stance aligns with the views of regional countries, including Russia, which has stressed the need to assist the Islamic Emirate in bolstering its counter-terrorism capabilities. However, the US has indicated it will engage with the Afghan government selectively based on its national interests.
