Kyiv Mayor Summoned to Parliament Over Winter Readiness Concerns

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has summoned Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko to explain the city's winter readiness, particularly its lack of mobile shelters and preparation for potential power outages. The move comes amidst criticism from MPs, including Mariana Betsu, who argue that the capital is not adequately prepared for the upcoming cold period and potential war-related disruptions. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has also filed a lawsuit against the city authorities for their inaction in installing mobile shelters. Despite initial resistance, the Rada eventually passed the motion with 151 votes in favor, 8 against, and 9 abstentions.
