The European Union has announced an aid package worth €710 million to support people affected by crises, natural disasters, and conflicts worldwide. The majority of the funds, approximately €380 million, will be directed towards supporting displaced persons and host communities in African countries south of the Sahara. This includes assistance for vulnerable migrants, their return, and reintegration. An additional €252 million is earmarked for emergency assistance to those affected by armed conflicts, forced displacement, epidemics, and natural disasters in sub-Saharan Africa, the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, and Ukraine, including preparations for winter.
